The Horizon 7.0 AT is the perfect training equipment for walking or jogging. This versatile machine has a big enough deck, and the ability to incline and change the speed at intervals. The machine is actually pretty quiet, so you shouldn’t be a bother to your neighbors.

This budget-friendly treadmill has some of the functionality of a high-end machine. Its 3.0 horsepower motor allows you to reach the speeds of most other treadmills. Most similarly priced treadmills have a maximum incline of 10% on average, less than Horizon’s 15%.

If you worry about the repetitive motion of your feet striking against the same material, you will feel relieved on this treadmill. The Horizon 7.0 AT Treadmill has one of the best decks for your feet to land on. The 3-layer soft cushioning allows every strike of your foot to be as comfortable as possible.

The shock-absorbing material allows your joints and muscles to recover faster after each exercise.

Console and Controls

Horizon has a minimalistic 7” inch LCD screen. It is about as basic as you can get. With the press of a few buttons, your stats will appear here.

The main reason for a small screen is for the user to control most of the touching and viewing through their BlueTooth device. There is a built-in slot for your mobile device on top of the console so you can access your program and controls.

The USB charger onboard allows you to connect your device and keep it charged. Horizon 7.0 AT allows you to stream the videos you like while working out. Instead of relying on headphones, your audio can play through the built-in speakers. This helps you have full awareness of your surroundings while working out.

Unfortunately, you can’t control the speed and incline through your device. All adjustments to speed and incline are made through the QuickDials on the handles allowing you to make changes without losing your balance.

The console overall is pretty basic with quick-adjust speed and incline adjustment buttons along the sides. The workout profile buttons are a little confusing at first, but a quick skim of the owner’s manual clears it up. The included workout profiles are:

  • Manual – pick your own speed and incline
  • Hill Climb – Simulates hill ascent with automatic incline adjustments every 30 seconds
  • My First 5K – intended for inexperienced runners looking to train for their first 5K run
  • Fat Burn – Designed to keep your heart rate in the ‘fat-burning zone’
  • Custom – Allows you to create and reuse a workout of your own design
  • Distance – Set a program with a defined distance as the goal
  • Calories – Set a program with a defined caloric burn as the goal
  • Target Heart Rate – Set your target heart rate and the machine will automatically adjust to stay in the range.

As mentioned earlier, the Horizon 7.0 AT Treadmill was designed and constructed with modern technology. At the top of the machine, you can control the machine by manually pressing a button or plugging in your device.

Next to the controls are two storage pockets for your phone or water bottle. In between the two pockets is a fan. The fan is a nice addition to the machine to direct a decent flow of air toward you. The only downside is its position (It doesn’t hit you above the chest).

Moving to the frame, you will feel its steel presence in weight. This machine is well-put-together, making it solid and quiet for your home workout. Inside the lower frame is the deck. For a folding treadmill, the belt size is big, allowing the runner to reach full strides. The belt will always feel tight, thanks to its long length and tight rollers on each end.

This treadmill has a 3.0 horsepower motor allowing the running to change speeds and gradients smoothly. You won’t feel any jerks while you increase or decrease the speed during your movements.

When you want to move the machine out of the way, you can do so with its easy fold-up steps. All you have to do is grab the foot of the treadmill and lift it to the desired resting position. It will automatically lock, preventing it from falling. And on top of that, it takes some force to unlock the latch. Children shouldn’t be able to unlock it as it requires strength from an adult.

Here are the reasons we recommend the Horizon 7.0 AT

0%-15% Incline

This machine can change gradients and allows users to workout on a low, medium, or high incline. With a touch of control, you can control the incline.

Walking, Jogging, and Running

People will find this treadmill perfect for walking, jogging, or running. The incline is adjustable up to 15%. And you can run up to speeds of 12 mph (pretty high for the price point).

Syncs With Some 3rd Party Applications

Horizon 7.0 AT is the best entry-level machine, allowing you to connect to fitness applications such as Peloton, Zwift, Nike, and more.

Unlike traditional treadmills, the Horizon features QuickDial Controls, allowing you to manage your workout with the ease of a button. Quickly change the incline or speed by scrolling up or with your thumb on the handle.

Foldable & Quiet

The Horizon 7.0 AT Treadmill uses absorbing cushioning under the belt to keep your movement silent. The machine is perfect for at home as it can fold up and be moved into smaller spaces.

Suits Small & Large Runners

With the machine’s long and wide belt, as well as its 350-pound capacity, it will suit almost every runner.

Here are the reasons we wouldn’t recommend the Horizon 7.0 AT

No Touchscreen

The biggest negative of the Horizon 7.0 AT is its lack of touchscreen technology. This treadmill relies on traditional buttons to navigate the machine’s programs and features.

Small Display Screen

Horizon 7.0 AT is designed for plug-in devices to follow your program desires. The use of third-party applications on a mobile device is the reason behind the 7” display screen.

Manuel Movements When Using Applications

This machine is unable to automatically sync to your application’s program. Meaning, when your program changes the speed or incline, you must do it manually. It is a little bit annoying but not the end of the world.

Lack of Installed Programs

The treadmill has a limited amount of built-in programs (7 programs). If you want to try and exercise with other programs, you must download and install them.

Who Is the Horizon 7.0 at Treadmill For?

The Horizon 7.0 AT Treadmill is a suitable machine for more than one type of cardio lover. Many people looking to spend very little on a running machine will love its budget-friendly price tag.

It is hard to come by a cost-effective machine that features a lot. This treadmill will satisfy the needs of many runners. Runners will be able to sync their applications and programs via BlueTooth to keep them working towards their next fitness goal.

The Horizon treadmill is a fantastic machine for the larger and taller runner. Runners with a longer treadmill stride will not worry about stepping on the front of the machine. Its 60-inch belt length and wide frame will work for every runner.

Moreover, it is the perfect machine for home use. And based on how long the machine is expected to last, it is a pretty good bang for your buck.

Who Is the Horizon 7.0 at Treadmill Not For?

While the treadmill has some great features for the price, it lacks in the way of frills. If you want the online trainer experience with a large screen or even the ability to watch a show, you need to supply your own screen or tablet.

Maybe you are someone who gets bored with a program or routine very quickly. The Horizon 7.0 AT only offers 7 built-in programs because they expect you to bring your subscription to the workout.

With BlueTooth being one of its biggest features, you will not like this machine if you aren’t a little bit tech-savvy.
